Green Fire Envy
Filming of class of 2007's feature film, “Green Fire Envy”, has wrapped up and the team has excitedly entered post-production. After the success of last year's comedy, “Battle Therapy”, this year's graduating class decided to take on a film with a much more serious tone, and explored the darker theme of death and its effects on the lives of those involved.
After months of preparation, a month of intense filming in various locations, and now post-production (which is due to complete in February 2008), the team is satisfied with the result so far.
“It is so rewarding,” said producer and production manager of Green Fire Envy, Catherine Neasbey. “I quit my well paying full time job to come and work on this production, unpaid, and be slave laboured for 6 days a week! But it has been the best.”
The month of filming saw the cast and crew undertake new adventures and exciting sets. The nature of the film also gave its actors the opportunity to work in environments that could really bring out their characters.
“The best moments were the ones when the scene just clicked and everything was perfect,” said actor, Ashleigh Cummings. “In the car accident scene, it was all there; two smashed cars, ambulances, fire brigades, police cars, medics, policemen, firemen… just everything! The atmosphere was so helpful and if I got to shoot that scene every night, I don’t think I would ever get tired of it.”
Despite having months of hard work to go in editing, marketing, advertising, fundraising, and preparing for the much anticipated premiere scheduled for March 2008, this year's cast and crew have learned a significant amount from working on “Green Fire Envy”.
