Day 13 - (Tuesday 16th) Broadway
Scene: Monique attempts a kidnapping
I was not required on set today, but still came to help out with production.
We rocked up to Broadway shopping centre before 6am.
Producers gave all who were jobless the task of running around trying to scout random extras. Sounds easy doesn’t it?!?!?! Haha!!! Vince (our Art Director) and I asked randoms to be in our movie. Though it seemed EVERYBODY was busy.. even the people who were happy lapping the same levels were busy.. Watever!!! But there were a few interested people, so we sent them up to Magali to be assigned to their set positions. On our ‘mission’ we did happen to come across a ‘Jack Sparrow’ wannabe.. (Quite an interesting fellow.) Anybody would have thought he was the one on a movie set… So ‘Ally’ ‘Trixie’ and ‘Brittany’ spent the better half of the afternoon having sword fights with him… hmmm, interesting day…

Day 12 - (Monday 15th) The Gorge *DRASTIC MUSIC*
Scene: Ally and Monique running through bush… again…
Good morning!!! Another god-awful hour at the gorge.. Up at 3 in tha morn, to leave by 4.. and head out to the gorge again.. So it was a re-shoot today.. Trixie was required on set for some random frantic running shots.
It’s cold, it’s dark.. we’re tired.. we get to the location.. there’s feathers scattered all over the floor… What?!??! Feathers??? Oh right… there’s a chicken up a tree!!!!
How goddam random!!! Here we are at this obscure location in d middle of some wop wop gorge.. and there’s a chicken… *ahem* correction.. a ROOSTER!! Up a tree…
Sounds absurd.. but it had most of the crew and ALL the actors amused for the ENTIRE morning.. (what an intelligent bunch we are!!) How did a rooster get up a tree, perch itself of a branch like 3 feet over head, in the middle of no-where!!! Since when did chickens learn to fly… WHAT was it doing there in the first place?? So those NOT in a scene (‘Matt’, ‘Trixie’, ‘Menyakos’ and ‘Cavanagh’) spent tha majority of the morning, while not on set, dreaming up scenarios of how this random rooster got up the tree.. better yet, how it was going to get down.. because by the looks of the mess it had made (in terms of chicken s^!t) it had been up there a loooong while..
“TRIXIE!!! YOUR REQUIRED ON SET!!!”
“WHAT!!! NOW!!!... Dammit!!!”
SO.. *ahem* back to reality… have to do tha mad rush to get my costume adjusted, make up on, hair all poofed up… Okay… run over some jagged rocks and down steep, un-steady steps in chunky boots… hmmm, ouch!!!
So we go about our scene…”CUT!!! That’s a Take!!!” *PHEW!!* Now I can take my boots off and my swollen feet can breath
Oh well… Ally and Monique are off shooting their scene now… In the far distance we can hear ‘Monique’ getting into character… by that I mean screaming… REEEEALLLY LOUD (Note to self: Never piss off little Jess a.k.a Monique)
…Now its getting hot… Reeeeeaaaalllly hot… and OH!! The rooster eventually decides to fumble its way down… AWSUM!!! How entertaining that was.. and NO I am not being sarcastic!!! That was definitely the highlight of the hour!! Anywayz… day was long n hot.. finished after midday… There’s another scene happening 2night.. but Trixies not on set.. So I bid farewell to the gorge, and our precious ‘Turbo’!!! (Matt named our rooster “Turbo-Chicken”!! LoL)
Im goin home 2 catch up on sleep…

Day 11 - (Saturday 13th) Ricardo’s ‘Not-So-Seedy apartment’
Scene: ‘Trixie’s intro’ and ‘Matt and Trixie meet’
OH MY GOLLY GOSH!! Talk about short notice.. We found out last night that these scenes were happening today.. and DAIMN did I freak out, I feel like I needed more time to prepare… These are all my big scenes *EEEKK*
So we arrive on set, to find out our location isn’t quite as ‘seedy’ as its meant to look.. in fact its pretty classy… for a hooker scene…
Got into my costume… well, more like got OUT of it, wasn’t wearing a hell of a lot.. and got all positioned for Menyakos and Trixies scene… I was getting pretty damn nervous… except by tha time the shot was set up (something like 5 hours later) I was so used to being in my underwear and lying on tha bed (which was staged in the lounge room) that I was just about drifting off to sleep…
Except when I had to smoke several 16 mil cigarettes over and over and over and OVER again.. just for one shot… *dry wretch*
Eventually I was so over them that I was about to throw up, and so much smoke was floating around my face, and had stung my eyes that they automatically shut I kept ruining the shot..
“TRIXIE!! Why do u keep shutting your eyes?!?!”
Hmmm… maybe.. Cuz I think it looks sexy?!?!
I’m pretty dis-appointed wit my performance in that scene actually.. It pains me to know that that’s the final cut L Directors and Art weren’t to enthused either… *sigh*
Great! now Im gunna get all sookie n bust out into tears…
“OK CUT!!! Trixie next scene!! U have 5 minutes”
WHAT!!! 5 minutes!!! What kinda hooker can get all their bits and pieces together, straighten their hair, change entire outfit, re-apply and entirely change make-up, un hook some extremely un co-operative suspenders in 5 minutes.. Geez!! talk about pressure.. Then that little voice in the back of my head is like “Harden up Tracey!! This is a once in a lifetime experience, just enjoy urself!!” So I kicked it into 2nd gear and prepped up for the next scene… tho it didn’t help that the silly actress (myself) got stage fright and forgot majority of her lines… Good Job!!!!
So next scene… Matt and Trixie meet for the first time.. *ahem* ….in a bedroom
It was pretty fun… It was even funnier watching Art show me how to crack onto Matt.. Hehe! Got the whole leg thing happening *REEOOOW!*…
It was fun, especially getting the lights to turn on to my ‘clap’ command.. But still, that scene didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped either.. For some reason I just couldn’t work properly all day.. It was very frustrating…
A few scenes cracked me up tho.. like while me and Matt are in the middle of a deep conversation Art calls out for us to kiss, so we lean in, all romantic and what not.. “OTHER SIDE!!” so suddenly our moment is broken and our heads have to abruptly switch sides cuz it was blocking the shot!! LOL, Oh well.. Its my first year of acting.. I’m still learning…
Anywayz.. its been a long day… We have to be at ATP 2nyt for another re-shoot of the ‘Matt, Dante, Julius’ scenes…
